Mimi Marziani Stepping Down As President After An Exciting Seven Years at TCRP

After serving as President for nearly seven years, I will be stepping down at the end of this year. It has been an absolute honor to serve as the President of TCRP, and such a privilege to work to advance equality for all of my fellow Texans, especially at a time when our rights are being challenged from so many angles.

Making this decision was difficult, but I firmly believe that this is the right time for me to start the transition process. As an organization, TCRP is in a strong and stable place. We’ve come a long way since 2016, and the Texas Civil Rights Project is so much bigger than any one person. With firmly established internal structures and strategic plans in place, I am confident that TCRP is in the right position for a new leader to take over the reins and guide the organization through the next phase of fine-tuning the incredible community lawyering model we’ve built.

I’m not at all done with TCRP today, and in the months ahead, I will be working diligently to ensure that our team continues our important work to serve Texans in and out of the courts. While I will hand off the reins to a new leader at the end of the year, I plan to be a lifelong supporter of TCRP, and I am forever grateful to you for your support throughout the years. I will live the rest of my life so damn proud of what we’ve accomplished together.

Please stay tuned for updates on the search process for TCRP’s new President. As we make this transition into a new chapter, we appreciate your enduring support which makes our work possible. Onward!
